Destaco straight line action clamps are manual operated push / pull style clamps that are used for various applications, such as welding, woodworking, tensioning devices and various assembly & testing operations.
Clamping force is the amount of force actually applied to a workpiece by closing & locking the clamp. It is normally less than the stated holding capacity. The actual clamping force depends on various factors, such as cylinder bore, cylinder area, spindle position (clamping arm length) and available air pressure. In most cases, the clamping force is approximately 2 to 3 times the force exerted by a pneumatic cylinder.
Some straight line action clamps, such as Destaco 5131-MB clamp, feature a threaded plunger that is manually fastened using a plastic grip handle. These clamps feature a two way locking handle (retracted or extended position) for enabling the user to use this clamp either in push or pull type configuration.
