Toggle clamp spindle assemblies are attached to clamping arm of a toggle clamp to securely hold a workpiece during welding, drilling or milling applications in aerospace, automotive and food & packaging industries. These spindle assemblies have steel construction and feature flat, rounded & swivel foot style neoprene tips. Flat tip bonded neoprene spindles have metric threadings for quick fastening on clamping bars of toggle clamps. They have LABS (silicone) free construction with a neoprene tip for oil resistance & heavy duty clamping while preventing marring / marking of work surfaces due to high operating pressure or clamping force. The neoprene tips can withstand temperatures ranging from -20 to 100 degrees C and have a hardness of 80 Shore A to prevent abrasion / twisting / flexing related damages. These spindles come with jam nuts to accommodate materials of varying thicknesses by allowing adjustments between clamping distances. Destaco 225208-M flat tip bonded neoprene spindle has metallic body with M8 threading and a neoprene tip of 0.83 inch cap width. The spindle is 2.09 inches in length for adjusting according to the workpiece. Raptor Supplies delivers this spindle in variants having lengths ranging from 0.87 to 3.27 inches.

Destaco 225208-M flat tip bonded neoprene spindle is ideally used with toggle clamps for holding down workpieces during welding, drilling and milling operations in aerospace, automotive and food & packaging industries.
Raptor Supplies can deliver a similar spindle with 3.27 inch length. We also offer Destaco imperial threaded neoprene spindles, swivel foot spindles, round bonded spindles and hex head spindles.
The flat tip bonded spindles are used to reduce marking on fragile or polished surfaces while swivel foot spindles are used where a workpiece with a large area needs to be clamped.
The term "holding force or capacity" indicates the ideal strength of the clamp for holding down the equipment, workpieces or sheet metal on the assembly line or during other industrial applications. The holding force is measured during the clamp manufacturing process, so does not provide a practical measure of the capacity of the clamp. Clamping force or exerting force denotes the actual force exerted by the clamp on the workpieces for holding them. The clamping force is generally lesser than the holding capacity, due to several factors, such as the position of the spindle in the clamping bar and the opposing force applied on the clamp.
A coupling grease, such as Mobil XTC is recommended for use with the brand's mechanical clamps.
No, Destaco clamps are load-rated only for clamping applications. They are not designed for hoisting or lifting applications.
