Description

Oil skimmers are designed to recover used oil from wastewater or coolants and are ideal for use in sumps, food processors, metal mills and HVAC systems. Raptor Supplies offers top-of-the-line oil skimmers from brands like Abanaki and Chipblaster. These oil skimmers can be used as a pre-treatment unit before liquid filtration or in conjunction with a coalescing system. Selected models are capable of reducing oil content to as low as 5 parts per million in water. To withstand turbulent fluid conditions, these oil skimmers feature a rugged stainless-steel / polymer / steel / carbon-steel construction that can withstand temperatures up to 212 degrees Fahrenheit. These oil skimmers come equipped with a totally enclosed fan-cooled 60 hertz motor that delivers a maximum speed of 57 rpm, making them suitable for both light- and medium-duty skimming operations. Belt oil skimmers utilise a continuous belt-drive and a wiper to remove up to 20 gallons of oil per hour and can be used on fluid surfaces that are 4 - 54 inches deep. Working Mechanism

  • If the belt type oil skimmers come unassembled, attach the stabiliser bar & spring into the stabiliser tube of the motor assembly. Install the belt over top & tail pulley and mount the skimmer.
  • The tube-type skimmers have a tube drive assembly top to fit lubricated tubing around a sprocket and match with the motor shaft. They are mounted using a mounting bracket with the tube resting on the liquid to be skimmed.
  • The disc type oil skimmers come preassembled and require only mounting on a flat surface. The bottom of the attached disc should be in the water & oil mixture to be skimmed.
  • After unpacking the skimmer, the wiper blade discharge trough fits into the assemblies for discharging the oil collected.
  • The units are then powered through a grounded outlet which starts up the motor to rotate the belt / disc / tube. The belt, tube or disc attract the oil from the liquid mixture.
  • A wiper removes oil from the belt / disc / tube and discharges it through a hose or trough for collecting skimmed oil.
