Description
Thickness gages are used to determine the thickness or gage of metals, plastics, woods or small instruments and are ideal for use in mechanical and industrial engineering applications. Raptor Supplies offers a wide range of thickness gages from brands like Starrett, Mitutoyo, Proto and Westward. Dial thickness gages have a jaw which features steel measuring contact pins and a handle & lever. The item to be measured is inserted between the contact pins and the lever is released, with the pins closing over the surface and measuring the thickness of the material. Mitutoyo thickness gages are designed for quick and efficient measurement of small dimensions. These thickness gages feature an ergonomic grip handle which reduces user fatigue and spring loaded plunger which makes the instrument easy to use. They are suited for measuring the thickness of paper, film, wire, sheet metal and similar materials. Starrett thickness gages have straight leaves and are used in aviation, diesel, automotive and farm equipment manufacturing applications. These gages are made from the finest tempered-steel and feature a locking device which allows secure locking of one or more leaves in position. They come with a rugged steel case which protects the leaves and are specially used for adjusting tappets, spark plugs and distributor points.
