Description

Woodruff key stocks are rounded machine keys. They have a half-moon shape for use on a mating half-mooned keyway that is milled near the end of the shaft. These woodruff keys, also known as half?moon keys, lock the mated gear / hub to the shaft by using their protruding flat face, allowing a tight fit. This prevents the independent movement of the attached hubs / gears / components from the rotating shaft / spindle and ensures better torque transfer.
