Anchor Setting Tools

Anchor shackles have a circular bow. These shackles are side loaded or employed in sling-leg connections owing to their broad bow form. They can be used to attach various lifting slings, chains or ropes to an item or to one another in rigging and load securement applications.

• Always check that the shackle is equal to or greater than the Working Load Limit (WLL) of the slings and other rigging gear being utilised.
• Avoid side loading chain shackles since it may permanently twist or distort the shackle's bow.

• Bow: It is also known as the body, bail, bowl or dee. It is the curved section of the shackle body opposite the pin.
• Ear: It is used to hold the shackle pin.
• Pin: It is the steel bolt which is designed to span the two shackle ears.
• Shoulder: It is the portion of the pin that rests against the ear when the pin is fully threaded or engaged.

These tools can be used for hanging pipes and anchoring into concrete. Drill a hole in concrete and insert the anchor into the hole that has already been created.

Pilot punches are used as locating tools for progressive dies. The material is transferred to the following station when a punch creates a hole in one station. Before the press cycles the next stroke, the pilot punch inserts itself into the hole and precisely places the material.

• Drop-in anchors are employed for overhead applications because the interior plug of the anchor stretches in four directions to keep the anchor securely inside the hole before inserting a threaded rod or bolt.
• To install, set the anchor into the hole, insert the necessary anchor setting tools into the anchor and whack the tool with a hammer until the thicker part of the tool contacts the anchor.
• When necessary, this kind of mechanism enables you to remove the bolt, but it keeps the anchor in place and concealed in concrete.

• Anchors can be positioned flush with the surface or below the surface's base.
• To support temporary concrete formwork, use anchors that have a coil thread.
• For easy threading with a corresponding rod or bolt, their threads are shallow and widely spaced.
• They are not intended to be used permanently.
