Working Mechanism
- A fuse in a switch consists of a metal wire or filament made of low melting-point metal, is enclosed in a heat-resistant glass or ceramic tube.
- When the current flowing through the fuse exceeds the rated current limit, the metal filament heats up & melts, causing the electrical circuit to break and interrupt the flow of electricity.
- The fuse can be replaced after it has blown, restoring the electrical circuit and allowing the switch to function normally.
- The switch, on the other hand, operates manually by turning the handle, which opens or closes the contacts inside the switch, thus controlling the flow of electrical power to the connected load.
